By Staff Writer

Miami, FL - The National Foundation for Advancement of the Arts (NFAA) has granted Galen Crawley an Honorable Mention award in Musical Theater. Galen was selected from over 6,500 Students Nation-wide who participated in the 2005-2006 Arts Regognition and Talent Search Scholarship program.

To participate in the NFAA Arts Musical Theater Scholarship Program students needed to submit a 4 minute audition performance video containing 1 monolog and 1 song. By recieving an Honorable Mention Award, Galen placed in the top 5% of students nation-wide and will recieve a cash scholarship award.

Galen is the only theater winner, in Georgia, to recieve an Honorable Mention Award who does not attend a private performing arts or magnet school. Recieving an Honorable Mention Award is considered an extraordinary achievement and Galen's name has been forwarded, by the NFAA, to colleges, universities and professional schools participating in NFAA's Scholarship List Service. These schools have expressed interest inidentifying young artists to whom they may offer admission opportunities and/or financial aid.

The NFAA is the exclusive nominating agency for The Presidential Scholars in the Arts. 160 National Finalists will go to Miami for a week, in January, and compete for cash awards, scholarships and grants in the fields of Dance, Film & Video, Jazz, Music, Photography, Theater, Visual Arts Voice and Writing.
