Dance  Mr. Brookwood Sep 15th This annual dance department event is one of our most popular even - it's always a scream, and definitely a evening you won't want to miss - as Brookwood's senior men for the title of Mr. Brookwood. Tickets go fast, so act now….     One Act Competition October 27th The 600 seat auditorium will be full, even the standing-room. "Begin!" will be called by the time judge and schools will take the stage, in turn. Each performance group waits outside a marked stage area and has 55 minutes to set-up, perform and clear the area. The shows are graded and ranked by three judges and a time keeper. Schools advance from Regional, to State and then National competition. 2003 Les Misérables, 2004 Into the Woods, 2005 The Wiz     Comedy Sports January Ok, the winner here gets some serious bragging rights - if nothing else - so this regional comedy competition is no laughing matter. Tickets go fast, so act now….     Georgia Thespian Conference February 10-12th Join us for the best three days of high school theatre in Georgia - more than a dozen productions presented - audition for scholarships, talk to college representatives from around the country, participate in a variety of workshops led by theatre professionals from around the country, perform or view individual performance and tech events and hang out with 2,000 other Georgia Thespians.     Shakespeare Competition February A Shakespearian monologue and sonnet competition, held at the Shakespeare Taven, in Atlanta.     GMEA Choral Competitions March Students interested must sing a solo, sing scales, sight-sing, and reproduce tones from memory in two Rigorous auditions - just to earn the right to compete! The Georgia Music Educators Association's State-wide Choral Competition is a showcase for Georgia's must talented High School singers. In the fall, over 8,000 singers will audition for All-State Chorus and only 1,500 will make it to the actual event in March.     National High School Dance Festival March 18th-21st Students compete for recognition, university scholarships and more at the National High School Dance Festival. You never know who is watching at this national competition, for instance, last year one brookwood student was offered a position with the Houston Ballet Company on the spot!
