International Thespian Induction News Release From : Ken Lindahl Brookwood High School Fine Arts Chairman Published on: Sept/08/2010 Student photo (click-enlarge)   On Thurs, Sept. 2, in the Theater, The Brookwood High School Theatre Arts Department held an induction, for seventeen performing arts students, into the International Thespian Honor Society. The ceremony was conducted by troupe officers; President: Corinne Weintraube, Vice-President: Nathan Boyd, Treasure: Holly Belcastro, Secretary: Gabby Arenas, and Public Relations: Peter Nelson. The following students were inducted (see photo); Erica Andrews, Gabby Beteag, Eleanor Bonner, Sarah Bess Jones, Amanda Malone, Ramon Cortes, Nikki Ghimire, Rachel Kneeland, Derrien Lewis-Evans, Mack Mothorp, Freling Scarborough, John Sliger, Cecily Tartaglion, Matt Tito, Mark Walker, Corinne Weintraub, and Sam Whiteside. Georgia Thespians is a chapter of The Thespians Honor Society which was established in 1929 by a group of college and high school teachers in Fairmont, West Virginia. They named their organization for Thespis, the Greek who, according to legend, was the first actor; their guiding principle was a dedication to excellence in theatre arts in secondary schools. Sponsors for troupe 3678 are theatre teachers, Ken and Patty Lindahl.
