In this Neal Simon comedy, an ambitious young schoolteacher, arrives in the village of Kulyenchikov - a village with a 200-year curse of stupidity cast on it - and falls hopelessly in love with a girl named Sophia (who's as least as dumb as her neighbors). If he can't educate her within 24 hours of his arrival in Kulyenchikov, he, too, will fall victim to the curse...
A Christmas Carol | Dec 1 & 3 |
Marley was dead, of that there was no doubt - let it be clear. The register of his burial was signed by the clergyman, the clerk, the undertaker, and the chief mourner. Did Scrooge know he was dead? Of course he did. How could it be otherwise? Scrooge and he were partners for I don’t know how many years. Scrooge was his sole executor, his sole administrator, his sole assign, his sole residuary legatee, his sole friend, and sole mourner. Old Marley was as dead as a door-nail...
Into the woods | Jan. 5th & 7th |
This ground-breaking, Tony and Grammy award winning, Stephen Sondheim / James Lapine musical intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales and follows them further to explore the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests. The main characters are taken from the stories of Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, and Cinderella, tied together by a more original story involving a baker and his wife and their quest to begin a family, most likely taken from the original story of Rapunzel by the Brothers Grimm. It also includes references to several other well-known tales.

Nor does it prevent him from driving Adam Oakhart, the blacksmith's son, to drink, from blackmailing rich Mrs. Asterbilt, or from bewitching her daughter, Leonie...
